The 3042 Fluted Bunker Hill Starting Wood Newel Post is the most conventional method of starting a stairway. It makes the rail uncomplicated and easy to install. It can be mounted on a stair tread, cap, landing or balcony. Along with being a stabilizing force, it can also add an ornamental element to the staircase. 

• 3-1/2" width - 56" height - Fluted newel post
• 5-1/4" top block - 23-1/4" square bottom block
• 5" acorn top - 22-1/2" turned middle
• Install using our Newel Post Mounting Kit 

Caution: It is critical that the newel is attached securely in order for the staircase to comply with local building codes.
